Summer, holiday time comes to an end. Kids go again to school, the trees loose leaves, you come back to work after vacation and you start loosing your personal energy. You come back sun tanned, happy, relaxed, full of hope that your energy will last till the next holiday. However very often when you ask your colleagues how was the vacation, instead of telling you interesting stories, they say vacation… when was that? I do not remember. That is the first sign that they started loosing their personal energy.

Just few days ago, you just came back? How often do you hear “I am waiting for next holiday” or “Vacation, when was that?” Meanwhile you are only few days, or two weeks apart from your last holiday.

Instead of recharging your batteries once in a while during your vacation break, think about how to recharge your batteries every day? Energy and motivation gained during the holiday time, very often, does not last long. Your every day tasks consume a lot of your energy, full mail and e-mail box, work, tasks, priorities, things to do ASAP and even more thing to do ASAP. You catch up the things you haven’t done because you were away and you try to keep up with current tasks and projects. Under such conditions you may feel even more tired than just before your holiday. You were leaving to gain personal energy so why does your personal battery get empty so quickly?

Charging your personal energy batteries every day is the easiest way to take care of yourself every day. Plan time for rest every single day and not only once or twice a year! You recharge your smartphone every day- what about you, your personal battery, personal energy?

Charging your battery every day means to create for yourself such conditions as you had or could imagine in your holiday time.  Think for a while what was so special during your vacation that did let you relax? Which conditions allowed and assured  your relaxation and stress relief? How may you, how is it possible to create, guarantee such conditions every day? To help your imagination, some ideas below.

  1. Activity

    If you are very active while resting, try out doing sports few times a week.

  2. Offline mode

    If you were feeling mostly relaxed when your internet connection was lost and all the incoming things to do, then think about switching your mobile phone off and setting an offline mode. During the weekend or in the evening, leave your phone aside. You already know that the world will still exist, even of you are few days offline.

  3. Mini vacation

    Did you rest mostly when beeing outside, close to nature? Or in an all inclusive hotel? Plan one day or a weekend in a moth or two when you may go away from the city rush and go to any hotel or a SPA. Already one day away from your tasks and work may influence your personal energy in a very positive way.

  4. 90 seconds for yourself

    Another very simple method is to develop few photos from your holiday time. Pick the ones that you really like , that recall the best memories. Take a glimpse at these photos either in the very early morning or before going to bed. Then close your eyes shortly and concentrate for 90 seconds on the way how you breathe. You body will relax immediately.

  5. Spontanous activity

    If you relax mostly in a spontaneous way then make a reservation, book time in your calendar for such spontaneous activities. sometimes even one evening in a week, when you do not plan anything may resemble your vacation. Do what makes you happy in this particular time. Do not analyze what other think or say, listen to your inside and relax in your own way.
